A DIY wedding with lavender and spikes in Kastoria

The wedding we are sharing today with you has a sense of summer and lavender. With two of our favorite element, spikes and lavender, Paraskevi & George planned their wedding in Kastoria by themselves and the result was something more than exquisite.

“I met George in Thessaloniki on 2008, at the university. He proposed a few years later in a small beautiful apartment at Koukaki, in a moment I didn’t expect it at all. It was after we have watched “Romeo and Juliette” at the theatre. It was more of an honest expression of his feelings and our deepest wish of growing all together”.

“The basic elements we chose for our wedding was lavender, spike and the boat. We wanted them to remind of light, the country side and unconcern. Mothers, grandmothers, aunts, siblings and friends were summoned to sew sails, to make clay pots, searched into the fields and to dress with even the smallest detail”.

The stunning wedding dress that Paraskevi chose was a creation of Stalo Theodorou and she knew that this was the one because it was simple, special and made her feel herself. “When we first saw our wedding pictures we felt filled with joy and emotions. We get the same feelings every time we look at them”.

Paraskevi has one advice for all future brides to be and this is it:

"Celebrate your love! Get drunk by it!"
