A stunning civil wedding in Crete

Today we are sharing with you a civil wedding at Irakleio, Crete. Sofia and George first met in college. “He was one of the first people I met on campus. We became a couple, though, after we graduated, and we have both moved to Brussels. He never popped the question. We were just talking about getting married, we decided to do it, we went together to buy the ring, we had a small party to celebrate and then we set a date”.

The couple might have decided to get marry at the City Hall, but the kept all the traditions and their wedding was truly dreamy. “Definitely, the most amazing moment of our wedding was when we were both walking to the city hall with all our friends and family with the accompany of music. We were both so nervous, but the happy faces of all those we love, relaxed us completely!”.

“The colors we chose for our wedding were white, gold and olive green. I love the combination of these three colors and we both love the olive trees. Is there anything more Greek than that? As for my dress, it was tailor made. I loved the lace and it was my first choice. We worked with that material, and the result was even better than what I had originally in my mind. I am very happy with my choice. I loved the whole procedure of the fittings and the dress itself a t my wedding day!”.

“We are so proud of our photographer, Georgia and Manolis. The pictures captured the true sense of the day. We were so happy and relaxed, and it is shown in our wedding pictures. Our favorite pictures are the ones form the wedding party, the dance with our friends – it reminds us that they were all there, traveled from New Zealand and Brazil, just to be with us that day!”.

Sofia’s advice for all future bride’s to be is:

"Your wedding day is not the most important day of your life. Try to be relaxed, both of you, because this is the day you are throwing a big party to celebrate your relationship. Dance and drink and have fun with everything that might go wrong – we forgot the wedding cake at the fridge – and everything will br perfect. Oh, and don’t forget to eat!"
