Summer wedding in Aegina with cactus and succulents

A great summer party in Aegina. That was the wedding of Maria and Giannis. The basic element of the wedding was the cactus and the succulents and believe us when we say it, you will absolutely love this wedding. “The moto of our wedding was the “one of those weekends”, which is a phrase we use lots of years since we travel many weekends of the year. We wanted all to see what “one of those weekends” really mean to us, how we party, what we eat, where we swim. The wedding colors were based on cactus and succulents, since the matched the landscape of Aegina perfectly, and our guests could bring them back”.

“When we first saw our wedding pictures, all the feelings of those three days came back, they are so natural, and they are exactly the way we imagined them. We also saw moments that we have forgotten, and we laughed for days!”.

*From Anais of  La fete: “We based the whole concept in local elements, as we always do in La fete. Ceramic, beige colors, prickly pears and cactus. The wedding stationery was designed by the bride herself in a watercolor style. For the photobooth we created a banner background with the wedding’s moto, and we used polaroids for the guests to take their picture and write on the wish book. We also created customized props. The sweet corner was enriched with big ceramic pots with almond-sweets, Aegina peanuts, and cactus cupcakes. On the tables we put small luggage tags around the nappkins, menus and local Aegina sweets. At the church instead of candles we used ceramic pots with large candles on handmade macramé. The decoration had baby prickly pears on ceramic pots. The ceremony scenery was in very simple lines!”.

Maria’s advice to all future brides to be is:

"Take it easy, it is just a party. We enjoyed the planning part so much and we spent the least possible amount of time, since we live abroad. We were a little bit of last minute, but we didn’t regret a thing!"
