It’ s trendy, enjoyable, original and it has fun! The “save the date” video idea is the next big thing during the preparation of a wedding. It is already hip abroad where videographers create little gems with style, clear scripts, cinematic editing, sense of humor and high aesthetic standards. In Greece we have just begun to make our first steps into the world of the “save the date” video…

Maybe you wonder what is the “save the date” theme anyway. It is a simple but unique idea. It is like a post-it note in your guests’ diary. An announcement of the date, the time and the place of your wedding, creating a certain mood of anticipation well before you send the official invitations. Even if you choose not to use invitations, you could well notify everyone by a “souvenir-save the date” memorabilia. The idea is to make something that everyone will memorize easily. Some good ideas for “save the date” memorabilia that we see quite often is a little magnet for the fridge (people see it every morning), a book index (they can use it in the diaries or books), a box with matches (they will sure light some candle at some point), a balloon (they blow it and have it as a decoration in their child’s room), a glass bottle with a message (they can always turn it into a jar or a flower pot).

Our proposal is somewhat different. Instead of a simple souvenir-item, the idea of a short, smart, and humorous “save the date” video has many advantages. It is a great way to introduce yourself to some guests who do not now you as well as your partner and vice versa (his colleagues from work, your friends from yoga class). It is a really ingenious idea to show your personality and personal preferences on the kind of wedding you are going to have. And really, is there anyone who will not open an email or messenger message with a video when it pops up sent from your address? Add to the plus the fact that a video always will be there for you and others to watch it again and again when you feel a sweet longing for this amazing day of your life.

A couple who dared – Kostas & Danai – A “save the date” video that makes us laugh and remember

Kostas and Danai had this idea beforehand. And they decided to put their friends in the cast. They prepared a script, found the necessary equipment, put on their sunglasses and summer hats and kicked off! We only followed them with our camera and drone at this crazy route with happy ending!

A journey, a van and a date destination! This is 28.10.2017
They hurry, they stumble, they get sweaty but they finally make it. Kostas and Danai, with the air tickets and luggage in hand, hop on their amazing retro van and head to the beautiful pine forest of Shinias. A moment of bad luck does not discourage them and they catch up with their friends who wait for them patiently having prepared a giant “hurry up” sign. It is not one nor two folks, but eight of their friends who manage to find a seat in the van and all together depart for their final destination: the wedding.
