Probably right now you are wondering why you clicked on an article that discourages you to lose weight… Maybe because of instinct, maybe to read a different opinion, maybe by luck while searching for the best diet to lose weight quickly… Not to make you more anxious, you can make wonders with your diet in order to feel more appealing on your wedding day, but I want to convince you by the end of the article to do it the right way!
When you want to lose weight, the immediate thought is to “quit”on food, and start a diet. If you have been on a diet before then probably you can remember the stages you went through… Excitement at the beginning, patience after that, until at some point you let loose and got angry with yourself who couldn’t stick to your original plan. Sabotage! There goes the bikini you had your eye on…
But this is not the only emotional cycle that makes you feel awful about yourself. Lack of food itself can cause you irritation and enervation, and with all the wedding planning, that’s not a good combination!!
In a good case, the result of a diet may be the downsize of your clothes, but it might cost you your skin glow and your hair quality. You would hate if they both lost their glow just before your wedding! Lack of food is very possible to deprive you of nutrients that help your cells being “at their best”.
Moreover, as a rule, very low calorie diets, because the amount of food is drastically reduced, can cause constipation and bloating in the abdomen and while you struggled to see it diminish, you wake up one day and wonder what you didn’t do well…
When your body understands that the energy you give it is very little, it goes into survival mode, reducing its rhythms. Yeah right, that means slower metabolism! Just think about how much your body is overwhelmed especially at a time when you have more activities to do than usual.
So, avoid extremes and drastic solutions and focus on how to organize your meals so they are pleasant, convenient and nutritious, and how to keep yourself hydrated. Don’t be afraid that the scale will judge your effort, but don’t wait complimenting you every time you step on. It is a toll you need to learn how to interpret correctly and it may help you fix your habits.
Most important and hard thing to do: Dare to escape! You don’t have to be a martyr, by tormenting your body and mind to follow a diet. What you need is your own framework, which you can easily follow and learn to forgive mistakes. If, you think that’s too hard for you then you must consider visiting a dietitian…
