It might seem like the strangest thing in the world but it is true. According to researches, more than half of the couples organizing their wedding, will go over their initial estimated budget. This happens because there are lots of hidden costs and extra costs that couples ignore. Don’t get nervous. We have gathered four key tips to help you stay on route.
1.Use a calculating system for the expenses
Try to keep all the expenses of the wedding together. Make an excel file and keep track of all the spending. For example, note how much you spend on the venue, how much on the wedding dress and how much for the flowers, etc.
2.Try to calculate all the hidden and extra costs
Knowing for the beginning all the hidden costs of a wedding will help you cover them from your initial budget. Some of the main hidden costs are the overtime costs, the tips for the vendors, marriage license fees etc.
3. Plan in advance to go over budget
It might seem stupid but it is the reality. Set your budget and calculate a 5-10% increase for unforeseen costs. Trust us, you will thank us later.
4.Use one and only one account for the wedding
Open a bank account just for the wedding and make all the payments from it. You will be able to keep track of all the transactions and it will help you control all the expenses and costs of your wedding.
