Say yes to a winter wedding
And you won't regret it

“In Greece we do not have cold weather, and we never had”, says a well known song by Locomondo music group. It may be so. In a country with almost all year round sunshine and summertime ending almost at the end of October, winter plays always the supporting role in our lives. Nevertheless, it always comes with many surprises for those who seek a different experience for their holidays or even for their wedding ceremony!
Together with dimH team we have travelled a long way around Greece sharing and filming unique moments in couples’ wedding ceremony and christening. We walked in cobbled streets with sun burning our backs, we filmed couples in sandy beaches, on top of fishing boats, even inside the sea in Cyclades, Evia, Central Greece and elsewhere. Yet the idea of a winter wedding has always filled us with new challenges and anticipation for our next adventure in the magical scenery of mountainous Greece.
Pelion- At Kissos village and the Basilica of St Marina
Just 63 km from the city of Volos lies a hidden treasure. At 600 meters altitude Kissos village, surrounded but natural beauty of all sorts, may give you the inspiration for a different style of your wedding ceremony. We did not choose Kissos by chance. Among the plane trees in the central paved square of the village, rests the temple St Marina, the most famous church all over Pelion. The wedding ceremony acquires a different dimension inside this historic monument inside which lie a remarkable wooden carving and the elaborate religious paintings by the famous artist Ioannis Pagonis.
Arnea in Challidiki – At the chapel of St Paraskevi
Chalkidiki in Northern Greece is synonymous with its long coastline and beautiful beaches, yet there are many mountainous resorts well hidden. Among them we distinguish the historic village of Arnaia. Just 70 km from Thessaloniki, situated between mountains Cholomontas and Dreveniko, this traditional village combines everything that a visitor may ask for and especially when organizing a winter wedding. Ideal setting for the ceremony is the church of St Paraskevi situated in the oak tree forest just 2 km outside the village.
