Wedding at St. George Lycabettus

The wedding we are sharing today with you is practically a crazy and unstoppable party. Mariko and Vassilis got married in Plaka and their wedding party took place at St. George Lycabettus Boutique Hotel. Mariko took our breath away with her impressive Atelier Loukia wedding dress while once again we got head over heel with the amazing handmade Thomas Shoes she chose.

“I met Vassilis through common friends that later one they became our maid of honor and best man! The wedding proposal was really very spontaneous and a complete surprise for me.. We were in our home a Sunday afternoon, a few days after the first Christmas we spent together since we moved in together. As we were putting away all the Christmas decorations, I wished to be well and healthy next year and Vassilis asked me if I wanted to be married to him until that time of the year!”.

“Our wedding was full of beautiful memories and I just can’t pick only one. My god daughter that helped wear my shoes while she was holding my wedding dress, the people on the streets of Plaka that were applauding as I was walking to the church, my father, whom I’ve never seen him dancing before, suddenly standing up and dancing rock n roll with me, or Vassilis’s overaged uncle that was dancing with his walking stick…”.

The couple’s wedding was not a classic city wedding. It was way romantic and the colors they chose were white and beige. “When I first saw my wedding dress it was the way I wanted it: simple, romantic, ethereal and chic. Even though I tried more dresses in other boutiques, I just realized that the one I had tried first on what the one I’ve always dreamed about!”, Mariko told us.

“When we first saw our wedding pictures, we felt so moved and nostalgic for that amazing day and of course happy that the result was exactly how we wanted it! Manos captured with the most wonderful way all the emotions and moments of that day!”.

A perfect party in the heart of Athens! That was Mariko and Vassilis’s wedding. And that is the advice she gives to all future brides to be that are now planning their wedding:
